Free Range Nurse

Cooking therapy from a former travel nurse

About Free Range Nurse November 10, 2009

I am a neonatal nurse by trade, but always feel the need to nurture my creative side.  Lately, that creativity has been directed toward the kitchen.  I don’t want to label this a food blog, but there will probably be a lot of food posts.  I might also post about my family or daily life, things I like, places I go.  We’ll just take it day by day, okay?  I hope you enjoy browsing the pages and recipes.  I hope you’ll try some and report back what you thought.  Think of it as our online coffee shop where we can swap recipes and stories.  Thanks for stopping by.

Heard about you due to your book club and love to cook, so thanks for inspiring me with awesome sounding recipes- now I would love to find out more about your book club:)

    • Welcome, Ruth. Good to have you here. I hope you’ll enjoy the experience/recipes.

Our book club is a group of Neonatal nurses and respiratory therapist. We don’t really have a website as of yet, although our fearless leader Pam, would be the type to do something like that. We currently have about 30 members and meet once a month. The person hosting gets to pick the book of the month and provides refreshments for the group, a door prize and will come up with a way to discuss the book at the follow up meeting. Our current book selection is The Help. I am hosting and choosing next month’s book, but I can’t tell you what it is until it is announced at our book club meeting.

I stumbled on your blog while looking for a recipe for the yummo pineapple upside down pancakes I had at Snooze a few weeks ago! I graduate with my RN in three weeks (yes, I’m counting)…so I love nursing and nurses and their blogs. 😉 Lol! Thanks for your great input!

I wanted to say THANK YOU for posting the snooze pineapple pancake recipe. We just ate there for the first time last weekend and I am so glad to have a way to recreate the pancakes at home!!!
